My First Week - A Review

The Good:

The support is fast and good. Not only have a been told what I have done wrong installing software, but on several occations, HostGator have acctually done the work for me. Two examples are:

1/ When installing vBulletin, I uploaded an extra folder and they moved it to the right level.

2/ When I had problems with my settings for www, they had it changed within minutes.

The service has been great, no downtime too.

The Bad:

Through no fault of HostGator, their Live Chat does not work with my prefered brower (opera) and so I had to log into IE to use it.

Also, since I am a "minor" I have difficulty paying for services online. It would be a lot eaiser for me to pay if there was a Solo card option or a Solo card option through another company, for example www.worldpay.com. I can't get PayPal due to age restictions.

We've been working on a inhouse chat program that we will soon be launching. It will work will all browsers including opera. Were glad you're with us! Thank you for the recommendations.

Despite how good this service is, I have made my decision to change hosts. I've kept HostGator bookmarked in case I need to come back but once I move my files, I will be gone.

I am moving to a UK based company which allows me to use my Solo card. This is really the only reason but being under 16/18/21 it's really difficult for me to pay.
