I started with hunting for a free web hosting some few years back and have my personal sites hosted with advertisements. Though with almost 7 years of jumping from one webhost to another, I may not consider myself as what you might call a real experienced Sys Admin or Webmaster.
At first, I was looking for the biggest webspace and bandwidth available, only to find out that my webhosting needs don't really need those large spaces. Then I realized that a webhost with an efficient Customer Support is really important to hosting. I first came to Hostgator availing of the $9.94 discount coupon just to try it out. Then tried a hosting with a much larger webspace and larger bandwidth. Sad to say, after paying a $15 setup fee and a one month hosting for $9.00, I noticed that I the quick responses to emails abruptly ended there. I have to wait between 16 to 24 hours for a concern to be answered and resolved. Luckily there was a "no question asked" guarantee. I hate leaving a company and leave some bad comments on their site. So I decided to go back to Hostgator and created myself a Support Account to have my concerns answered, just making sure that what happened to me wont happen again. For a start, the Support Application Hostgator is using is a sign of a good company for me. Hostgator is using Kayako Supportsuite which for me is really a great support software: user friendly and a breeze to use for the user's end and easy for the support staff to take care of the users' tickets and concerns. Not to mention the very informative Knowledgebase. Second, the Support Staff are really very professional. There are times that I was quite mad and may have snapped at some of them but they handled the situation and my concerns professionally. ![]() Third, the peer support forum is really a plus. With experienced webmasters and sys admins, you can be sure that whatever trouble you are experiencing now, they had been there already and would give you advise on what to expect and should be done. I thank every one for this. ![]() I was thinking that I give a rate review as being Neutral but it ended as Positive. So Positive it is, though I reserve my feelings as still Neutral. Until the next review, I thank you for your time.
