I have signed with hostgator for a testdrive using a 1 month free coupon.
Here is the course of things... 1) signedup for a new account after(10 minutes) 2) got setup email 3) changed name sever 4) Moved/Uploaded all files ( nameserver updated after 6 hours) 5) The site is up and running fine felt really happy. (then after 24 hours) 6) Bump!! Got a email that my account is suspended and i have to send passport or utility bill etc or call them. I do not have a passport. I cannot make international calls. I dont know what utility bill means? I dont know why all this hell is with me? I cannot do any of the things about. What should i have to do now? I have asked other hostgator clients and they told me that they have not faced these problems. And suggested that they want to avoid clients who is using coupons so as to save costs. Let me know if you active if i pay for the full month. Or will i have to look for another host. If you even answer my thread, please do it in yes or no. So, that we dont waste any of our time. |

I'm seeing a lot of complains lately because of verification, I myself have had a similar "problem".
HG staff should note that the DNS changes are being almost immediate lately, specially with GD, and maybe it should be better that HG puts a remark, after the purchase, that the account MIGHT need verification in the next 24 hrs. This way the client will not transfer the domain, at least, to HG before verification.

Totally Agree!! Although my billing, loggin & the bank that has issued the CC are within a radius of 10miles I was asked to send my ID to verify (most probably because of my location), which I didn't and I don't have any problem with it!
