Default Multiple questions.

Well, I plan to get the Business shared hosting plan this weekend, I'm quite excited about it. I have a few questions so I don't mess up on something and become unable to solve it.
  1. Does Host Gator's email and SSL work on domains registered by Go Daddy?
  2. Is there a video sharing software that is compatible with the Business plan, since FFMPEG is not on shared servers?
  3. Can I make multiple sites on a single account, such as using a master domain, and using addon domains on separate directories to create separate sites? (A bit hard to explain.)
That's about it. I hope for some responses!

1. Yes
2. Try youtube.com
3. Yes. Just purchase extra domain names as you need from whomever you want, then add then to your account as addon domains.

I know that using YouTube is recommended, but I wanted a way to have my community show their gaming videos on my site, if possible.

You can show them on your site by hosting the videos on youtube. You upload the movie files to youtube, them embed them on your webpages.

Youtube is free and is designed to handle this type of load better than your web hosting account.

I guess I'll have to use YouTube.

Either JWPlayer or FlowPlayer can handle multiple AV formats on site, but YouTube is definitely the preferred solution for many reasons.

Streaming videos appears to be supported and documented by a Host Gator staff member but you probably should consider the YouTube option.

And YouTube is perfectly acceptable.

Well, once again I have a question. It's already been answered by Live Chat Support, but I'd like a further explanation on why text-based RPGs on a forum software such as phpBB are not allowed.

Why? Because Hostgator, in its accumulated wisdom as a hosting service and out of concern for your fellow customers, deems certain things not to be acceptable on a SHARED server. What other explanation do you need?

It's really very simple. If you want a totally unrestricted server environment, then that's what you'll have to sign up and pay for.
