Smile How much bandwidth do I need?

I have about 10 websites. I am also going to add about five more in the coming months. What plan should I get.
or how much bandwidth is needed to host all sites?
any help is appreciated.

It totally depends on your websites.

If your sites are Google.com, Yahoo.com, ESPN.com, etc. then yo will need at least a couple OC 192's for bandwidth and several geographically diverse data centers.

But, if you sites are average small business sites that do not do any streaming video or any bandwidth hog applications, then you will probably use around 1GB of data transfer per month.

I suggest starting with a small plan and then upgrade if you need to. HostGator provides CPANEL which has some nice statistics and logging tools. You can check you usage and see if any upgrades are needed.

Simply, if these websites belong to you only. (No one else having access to a cpanel, etc) then you will want a "Shared" plan. If you are reselling your space to customers, people paying for web space and need cpanel access, then you will want the "Reseller" plan.

From what I can see, those sites are your own. And I would suggest starting with Baby. See how much bandwith you use the first month, and go on from there. You can upgrade to swamp if you need more, and then if the sites grow exceptionally large you can upgrade to our semi-dedicated plan. From there of course, there is the Dedicated plans for large-traffic and heavy-load sites.

Dedicated Plans: www.hostgator.com/dedicated.shtml

Hope that helps!
