Default Moving from VPS to dedicated

Any experiences of doing this? I moved from Shared to VPS a while back and it wasn't problematic at all.

I don't know if Hostgator would move your sites, most likely they would. You may have to ask the support to confirm. Even otherwise, if you are moving from cpanel VPS to cPanel dedicated server, moving sites is just a matter of few clicks from WHM. This should not be hard.

Do it yourself. There is a WHM to WHM move. 48 hours nothing. You can kick off the move and watch it while you eat dinner. Everything will be moved: Files, email accounts, database, all domain setup information, etc. I just a my own from a shared to a VPS and it easy too easy.

Moving should not be a problem. VPS plans are designed for custom software needs, you might not see a performance boost on the lower level plans (which may require skills to tweak), obviously if you can spike up to 25% of a shared server with 16 processors and lots of ram, your site might not run as fast on a level 3 if you move it, just because it is more expensive does not mean the site will run better. Case by case of course

I just did this for one of our packaged VPS. Just use the automatic cpanel move tool via your dedicated. Makes life so much easier.
