I'm seriously considering moving to a reseller package (Aluminium) from shared (Baby).
I am hesitant to move due to the fact that my site(s) are stable and working flawlessly on shared and not had a single issue regarding uptime, speed, sql ...etc ![]() I asked HG if they moved everything over for me from shared and they happily do that but, want a bit of re-assurance regarding server stability and experience from reseller package holders before I make the jump ![]() Thanks

It's dependant upon the server and the users you share it with, just as it is on regular shared.
We were set up on gmc aver 2 years ago and had an almost flawless first year and then occasionaly saw loads climb to an unacceptable level and our php driven sites would time out. This would usually get taken care of within a couple days with a little persistance through support. The last few months before we went dedicated, the loads were high and causing some problems quite frequently. We had given up and let them take the week or so to be resolved. Overall we were quite happy with our reseller account.

I suggest you to check some possibly differences between your actual server and the future one.
phpSueexec or not, PHP(s) revisions Mysql revisions Mail settings, maildir.(Reseller do not have the new mail tool) You can ask support for this. If they are some #, be prepared before moving an read the threads and Faq's about for a smooth move. |
