Default moving my domain to hostgator

Hi,

I've just purchased Baby Plan. I want to transfer my domain to hostgator seamlessly for my users. So I thought, that after registering I'll be able to use ftp/mysql to copy the data, and THEN update my dns information. Now, when I look at the control panel, it looks that the ftp host is : ftp.myDomainName.com ?

So, the question is: Is there a way to upload the files, copy databases, see how the website looks like (by entering some IP address), make corrections (there are always problems during website transfers) and THEN make changes in dns?

And one more question: How can I register to use other forums than "pre sales questions" only?

in your welcome email you should get an IP address too. use that with your username to access your site

http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/~username should work fine.

No, I didn't. But I found this it in my control panel, thanks!

Another question - I have three already registered and functioning domains, like a1.com, a2.com and a3.com. I want hostgator to host them. In the control panel should I add them as "add on domains" or "parked domains"?

In my previous hosting company I had only one choice: "add domains", hence my question

You can read about the differences between addon and parked domains here: http://support.hostgator.com/article...and-subdomains
