Question moving to dedicated server

We've been a shared hosting reseller for more than half a year now; and so far our overall experience with HG is good.

Now more clients are coming in and we're thinking of moving into dedicated servers.

Can you post info on what prerequisite skills we must have? or is it just as simple as setting up accounts in shared hosting?

The dedicated server that HG leases are "Managed" servers. In other words, HG's support people know everything and will help you keep the boxes running. Basically, you don't need to know any more than you need to know to run a reseller account.

I would help if you had a background in Unix, knew how to use shell, understood a little about tar balls, knew about server security, were good a WHM and cPanel, knew ftp and sftp, knew exim and about email servers....

If you know none of those, you should be ok. HG can do as much of the work as you need. Think of it as a dedicated server with training wheels.
