I received this email stating my account was running out of disk space recently. The email was to xxx@domain.com, and was also from xxx@domain.com. It was only when I looked at the headers to find the source I realized it was from hostgator, after I realized this email account (not on Hostgator) was not even close to being full.
A little more description, perhaps even stating "Hostgator" in the body somewhere might be a good idea to avoid future confusion ... Quote:

It's generated by cPanel and for several reasons, its not very descriptive about who it is from. Once you see one, you'll not need more information next time.

Exist's a [clean cache] link in [disk space used] but do not know if this apply's or if it's only an "output refresh". Maybe some guru can step in. For the other part, I second Serra, becomes a reflex and it is more secure do not dispatch too much details. Last edited by riostyles; 03-06-2007 at 04:59 AM. |

is this due to the default email name, that havent been setup kind of thing? or they want to prevent user from replying back to this email, that where no one are sitting there. so wont able get back to hostgator.
![]() anyway, i also prefer a meaningful eg; noreply@domain.com

The message is server wide, so a reseller would not prefer to have hostgator splashed over its messages. |

That makes a little more sense, thanks for the explanation. The message did have me scratching my head for awhile though -- I have a shell account at sdf.lonestar.org where the email was sent, and I thought initially it was for that account, which I'm not even close to the limits.
