Default mod_security issues

I am having what seem to be mod_security problems with posting on a phpbb2 forum.

Could someone point me to some information on how to solve this problem?

re:
General. info on mod_security in Apache
Where is mod_security located and its logs?
Is mod_security set?
What are the mod_security rules?
What word or character sequences are blocked?
etc....

Thank you very much

Are you in a dedicated server?

If you are not then you should just contact support@hostgator.com

General info about modsecurity you can find here: http://www.gotroot.com/tiki-index.ph...security+rules

I have a reseller account on a shared account.

I was hoping to resolve this without generating a trouble ticket.

Thanks, Jeff

Only dedicated or root access will give you that, as far as I know. I run phpbb2, and mod_security, but with my own set of rules, but even then, before I tweaked the rules, my phpbb2 never gave me a problem.

You can't resolve mod_security issues yourself. It is way too much work. Basically, the problem is that one of their rules is stopping you from doing something, so the only way to fix it is to adjust the rule, not adjust your bbs to work with mod_security.

Plus, without the log, you can't really tell what rule is the problem.
