I recently started up a spam reporting for clients that requires clients to forward email as an attachment so I can trace the ip addresses of the spammers. I don't want the clients having to locate the header and copy/pasting the header in email... that defeats the purpose of my service. I began with a test which resulted in an error message being sent back.
Why is any email being blocked? How many email messages have I not received because they are being blocked? I didn't set up any "black list" nor did I sign up for email blocking. I don't want email being blocked for any reason. I have my own anti-virus protection and that is good enough for me. I was trying to forward an email as an attachment and I got the following error: This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: spam@spam-tracker.com This message has been rejected because it has a potentially executable attachment "email.eml" This form of attachment has been used by recent viruses or other malware. If you meant to send this file then please package it up as a zip file and resend it. ------ This is a copy of the message, including all the headers. ------ ------ The body of the message is 880157 characters long; only the first ------ 106496 or so are included here. |

Only emails with certain attachments such as .eml and .exe are blocked. If they want to send an attachment they need to zip it up that way it will not be blocked.
Almost every isp / host block emails with these type of attachments. Sorry but there is no way to remove it.
