I'm considering moving my message board to Host Gator.
I have a SMF message board with about 200 registered members. The most people I've ever had logged on at one time is 25. I average about 10-15 logged in during prime time hours. I'm considering adding a chat script to the board. I'm curious if anybody here has a similar size board running a chat script and if they ever run into problems with server executions or CPU usage. I don't want to move my board to Host Gator and cause any problems for myself or for Host Gator. I'm not happy with my current provider because their customer service is going downhill fast. They do not know the ins and outs of their own product very well and getting a helpful answer from them is like pulling teeth. |

You might consider Invision Power Board as your forum. It is a commercial forum that includes a chat service. Their chat service is hosted on their servers so it doesn't place any load on yours.
