Default Memory and other limits for VPS

I have just signed up for the Aluminum VPS account. Was wondering...

What are the supplied memory levels, normal and burst, for each of the VPS packages?

Other than the raw numbers that hosting companies provide for gigabytes of storage space, and bandwidth per month, are there any useful standards for comparing the basic "power" of a hosting package? For example, is it possible or useful to state such things as maximumum simultaneous users, maximum page loads per hour, or maximum transferred megabytes per minute or hour?

I am trying to guesstimate how "popular" a site has to be at any one time in order to exceed the capacity of the package.

Best wishes

I'll ignore the VPS question... no clue what you are talking about, but I can can answer this part. There are two standards for a hosting package, space and bandwidth. Both are meaningless, unless you intend to use that much. Basically, if you get a 200gb account and use 1gb, the other 199gb really don't matter.

The real limits placed on hosting accounts are found in the TOS. That is where you will find all of the restrictions.

However, you can't really shop power, because there are too many hidden limits, that most users don't even know about.

Generally, you can assume that there are two types of accounts. Shared and dedicated. Dedicated is powerful, shared isn't. That is the only real difference. If you think you will need the power of dedicated, shared isn't doing to do it very well for you.
