Any body recommend anything for advertising I get a load of hits a day but nada for customers maybe I should get a merchant account it makes it easier on people... Hmmmmm.. I dont know tell me what you guys think I really dont know if this is a good question because in all reality we kinda compete agaist each other.

If you`re getting loads of hits a day, then you`re advertising is working just fine. I haven`t seen your site, but it sounds as though no one is interested in it if folks just look then dissapear. Maybe you need to target a specific crowd, and focus on them.

I assume we are talking hosting here... a merchant account says "Hey, I'm a big guy, 10 employees, 24 hour support..." Sure, you may be a one man reseller, but with a merchant account, it is really hard to tell. You just slap up a big visa/MC logo and start taking orders.

You can try a third party company like 2CO. They are fairly popular and don't have the overhead of the other types of services. Then when you are ready, branch out into Authorize.net.

When using Authorize.net make sure you have a SSL on your site. HG sells them for $75 per year and requires a dedicated IP for $24 a year.
