At the risk of exposing my dns naivete but also to possibly grow my same knowledge; shouldn't the backup server have kicked in if it was listed at the registrar as nameserver3, if you have hg's (or your private ns's) in 1st and second?

Note, I have a reseller acct, no dedi experience, if this post was referring to such (if that makes any difference).

This is a quote from a post in DNSStuff forums:
Quote:
There is no way to assign priorities to NS records for a domain. Queries are referred to the various NS hosts in a round-robin fashion. The only commonly used records that have a priority are MX records.

So it would work if both hosts were fully synchronized?

You are better off submitting a ticket than posting here.

Or if you provide a domain name we can do some checking for you.

yea, i will submit a support ticket, the domains are online, because i can access them from a remote location. Ever since the morning of this outage the sites been offline from this location.

One of the domains are JeffZakovec.com

We have a neighbor, and tomorrow we will have her check the address too.
If it works from there, then i know it is an isolated problem.
Never had this happen before, and when it did happen it went away within a few days.
Thats why i was asking if that ip was banned. or some sort.
We run a dynamic Windstream DSL network on a linksys wrt300N ver1.1 router.
7 PC Ethernet and jeffzakovec.com or any other domains on that server is not accessible.
however, if i use http://70.87.126.226/~jeffzako/ then its reachable.
Regards,
-Jeff Zakovec

I can access that domain without problem.

Try accessing your site via pagewash.com.

Then it's ticket time.

I can reach that webpage with no problem.

It must be either your nameserver or your firewall on your side that is the problem...

I can reach pagewash.com just fine, and have already submitted a ticket.
Strange?
