All evidence has now been disseminated to my coworkers and they will begin working on their evidence tonight. Hopefully this means everything will be cleared up in the coming week and this nightmare can be behind all of us.

Angry Re: MAPS/mail-abuse.com blacklistings

Any updates to getting 74.52.183.34 removed (yaris)?

Its been a week now -I still can't send emails to 80% of my work contacts because of this mess. I think this whole thing has been a disaster and handled poorly by HG. I haven't been kept up to date from HG, nor told when I will this server will be removed. A simple phone call would have been nice.

You were last on the list of the 1000 customers that were affected by all these IPs being blacklisted... just wait, the call is coming...

Only in the last month have we seen such an improvement from HG in communication with major issues, let's hope it continues.

I think they handled it pretty well. I specifically asked about my server, kept in touch with hostgator, and the maps people. I removed a few of the servers from comcast and a couple others. It's been a pretty crappy situation all around, but I made the effort to keep informed and they kept me informed. I still can't send mails, but I'm waiting for damn dns servers to update because spamhaus says it's no longer listed.

I've sent 25 IPs to MAPS this morning to get them delisted. I'm just awaiting their reply.

70.84.7.114 (miata)
70.84.14.154 (dedicated)
70.84.63.226 (gator19)
70.84.90.146 (dedicated)
70.84.99.82 (gator233)
70.84.115.98 (gator116)

What is the most current status on this problem?!? Can you give us an idea of how far through the issue you are? Have 25% of the originally listed IPs been removed, have 50% been removed, etc? Do you have all the evidence
files for all the affected IPs or are you still seeking some from the vendor. An updated msg addressing this issue with some real depth would be appreciated. Please include more detail than only: 'here is the next 4 ips that have been delisted' or 'here is another ip delisted'. That type of info simply provides very little useful info to assist us in managing our clients who are suffering from the inability to send email with reliable confidence and is more analogous to watching grass grow or paint dry. Most clients understand the issue and are willing to wait a day or even a few days after speaking with them. Howver, they and I find "wait patiently till the admins work with the vendor to fix this for not just your IP but the other IP addresses HG has is not an acceptable answer" to a client as the info just doesn't give them anything substantial to base thier business decisions to move forward one way or another. Unfortunately, we have been waiting on HG patiently since this started on April 20 with very little info and no solid indication as to when the affected IPs will be resolved.
Thank You. Phil

My email hasn't been working now for nearly 2 weeks on Yaris, with no updates from the staff to my inbox. If I enquire via the ticket I've opened, I'm told to check this forum. This forum only tells me I might have the chance of it being removed soon. I think its time to switch host, before my customers switch from me.

if this is acurate, then yes this is a long time and you and your clients have reason for concern.... but switch host? this type of situation can happen with any host. just look through the thread... i have never seen communication and follow up/follow through like this.

The MAPS blocks have been going on for a week. That's all on the MAPS people. I've never seen a group of people that are bigger jack asses then Trend Micro. From dealing with them the last 2 weeks I will make sure that either me or the corp I work for will NEVER use trend micro products. A bunch of useless people.

Hi GatorRichard, can you give me any updates on the status of the following server:

74.52.60.50 (gator127)

We have been unable to send emails to business associates in eastern europe for the last week now. I have reported it to hostgator support so hopefully it can be removed soon .

I think the 36 hours are up, any status on Yaris and the rest of the IP's still having problems?

@mxrixer: Please also notice a very important word in what I said: "we're hoping to get almost all, if not all, servers removed within the next 36 hours." See the keyword hoping? It's not set in stone that it would take 36 hours. People taking anything as a definitive ETA is exactly why I was so adamant about not ever giving a proposed time. If I say "it could be 5 more minutes", someone will come to me in exactly 5 minutes and complain, failing to realize I used a very important modifier: could be.

Since I was off yesterday because I'm sick, and still am but I came to work today just to get this done, I didn't submit anything in the last day or so.

As for "where we are" on the IPs, we're at the bottom of the list. We only have about 10 or 11 more to get removed and the entire list would be completely done. Since I'm still under the weather but here at work, this is my main focus for today.

Richard,
I do understand it was a hoping response, I was just looking for status. You had kept us up to date previously, and there was not much activity yesterday (know we know why), so I was just curious. I do also understand that HG is working on the problem and they have to fight MAPS for answers. Thanks for the response!

I should have posted an update yesterday however, I was sick. Heck, I don't even want to be here today to be honest but *I* have to get this done. I want it behind us so it's no longer a worry.

Aloha and Thanks for the updates. Sorry to hear you are under the weather and I hope you have a speedy recovery. Since you note there are only a few left on the list, could you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post the list of those that are left. Doing so will certainly provide a more comfortable feeling the issue is still being worked for addresses of the sites we and other host?
From the thread here, I don't think I'm the only one wanting to know their address is still getting or will get some attention rather than be grouped as a 'collective'. My concern is HG and Trend will declare this finished and some will not be done with those of us left to start the process all over again. I feel listing the remaining addresses specifically would be very useful to any of us who are still NOT de-listed and are left 'wondering' what is being done or if anyting is being done for our specific cases to faciliate our mutual client's ability to send their email reliably. Problems tickets on this issue are being closed long before the reported IPs are de-listed with followup emails sent to support only being replied with 'read the forum' for status msg and no details. Thanks again for your continued support. Get well!
Sincere Regards, Philip
