So far, I'm a happy HG VPS Customer. I'm slowly moving my sites and e-mail accounts from my shared HG Account to my VPS. I just have one question....
How many websites can I run off of 1 IP address? I'm using the 2nd IP address that comes with my VPS for a stand-alone app that I don't want Apache binding to. That leaves me with 1 IP for everything else. I see that you can order more IP addresses, but I'm wondering A) Why and B) Do I need one. I don't plan on running any more apps on my VPS that will require a dedicated IP address. Thanks for the help |

As many as you want (and your VPS can handle).

Liquid_Squelch,
Regarding the "A) Why", I would say if an account or website need to be secured for transaction, It would need a dedicated IP to itself so you can install an SSL certificate. A secured website or part of it could be a billing interface or a website that needs to collect credit card or information you want to protect. As quietFinn said, you can put as many accounts as you want on a single/shared IP. Just make sure to keep an eye on the load of your VPS as you add accounts. |

Thank you both for your explanations..
I'm glad to know I won't need to buy any more IPs at the moment.
