Question How to make the contact page work.
Hi

I'm pretty new to all this and on a massive learning curve. I am trying to get to grips of making the contact page of my hosting template work.
It is one of the free templates but what i need is an idiots guide as to what to do, i just cannot seem to get my head round where to put the scripts and what to do.

i dont just want to get someone to do it for me but i would like to learn how to do this so i can set sites up for clients also.
I would be really grateful if someone could give me 5 mins of their time and go through this with me.
I have tried to follow the help page on template help.com but to no avail. Think i must be thick lol.

Hello,
what exactly are you trying to do?
Are you just trying to put your own info inside this page or are you trying to change the page in some way?

If you are trying to delete and add your own content, this will be easy.
Give me one second and i'll repost your code with highlights of what and where to make changes.
That should help you in the future for changeing default content of any page to your own.

Change only the highlighted content to your own.
Keep in mind that if you ad more content that what was originally there, it may strech the page tables.

Hi Revolutions.
Thank you so much for taking the time to assist me here.
I don't want to change the infomation that is sent or change the page construction at all, all i need to know is how when somebody fills it in, to get the information sent to me. This is the link http://www.premiumwebsolutions.co.uk/index-4.html# to the page concerned, i dont know if i am just stupid but i still cannot seem to get my head round this.
The send and reset boxes are blank also. Also do i need any other files on the server i have a reseller account. Do i need to activate anything or upload any other files to get this to work. This must be a pretty simple process because i cannot find many people asking for help, so it must be me. lol

In the huge lump of code you posted, the part relating to the contact "form" is currently just a html table. You need to wrap that table in the "form" tag to make it an actual form.

This link gives you an idea of how the html "form" tag is used.

Is there nothing like a readme in the templates you have downloaded that supplies you with some info?

Is it from templates.hostgator.com or within Fantastico in your CPanel?

Hi,

As far has i can see there is no help files, and yes i got it from templates.hostgator.com. I still with all this support dont know really what i am doing. Do i just need to edit the above and upload it back to the server. Or do i need to upload any further files to the server.

I have a form2email script thats very very easy to setup, pm me your email address and i`ll send it to you. you simply put the code into your page and alter 1 php file to include your email address and its done
