Default Major Problems here...

I didn't want to have to post on the board again about this, but it's the only place I seem to get a reply. I've spoken with so many live chat people, and e-mailed tickets twice to no avail.

My site keeps going down, and the problem isn't going away it's getting worse. I'm having MYSQL errors all the time, and the only response I get is that the server is under a heavy MYSQL load and that I need to keep contacting every time my site goes off to get it restored. It's okay to keep contacting IF I happen to be online when it occurs, but I have a job to go to. And, to be honest I really don't think I should have to keep contacting support- the problem should surely be looked into?

Surely to goodness I shouldn't have to monitor my own site like this? Is this problem on the server I'm on only? Or a hostgator problem? I wanted to add other features to my fan site including some videos, but I see no point in upgrading or doing all the work involved if my site is going to be offline at peak times like this.

Can someone please look into this problem and give me more of an answer than just 'It happens from time to time, contact us and we'll restart services' ???? Submitting tickets gets me the same answer...

Thanks

Dawn

Answer= "Its fine now."

lol

seriously though, i have seen this problem about 3 times also (how many times have i missed), and I have this funny feeling that HG maybe applied some MySQL patch or something ... I have been with HG for around about 5 months now ... and this problem hasn't happened before .. to have it 3 times in about 10 days is a bit worrying.

Which server are you on Dawn??

I'm on gator 8 and its been happening for about a month! It's getting worse, I can visibly see my site start to load slower every night and then WHAM, she's gone! if it's the server I'm on can I be moved if I upgrade or something? I'm pulling my hair out!

I am having similar problems - and have been for some time. My clients are getting very annoyed and are looking to me with an answer, though I am at a loss to explain to them what is going on.

I get responses from live chat like "We are resetting the server" and "We had some processes fail." Those are not explainations, and I am getting annoyed at the fact I keep getting calls from my clients saying "The site is down...again. What is the problem with these guys?"

I sent a lengthy email into support stating the problems and asking for answers - Brent emailed me back stating "Call next time something happens!" What!? Again, no answers.

Every time my sites go down, I get closer and closer to moving to another hosting company...

g8 we disabled some databases that looked to be causing problems it would either be them or your site dawn. Your site is actually reported as the heaviest user on the server. I am leaning towards the databases we disabled though.

ferrari problem site was taken care of yesterday.

mustang I see some databases that are using extreme resources that I will disable.

There are always going to need restarts needed here and there. All it takes is a single script for a single second to crash something. If something becomes a daily occurrence or frequent that usually means there is a problem site that needs to be taken care of. There are a few of us who investigate every problem to try and prevent it from happening again.

Hi
I don't know technical stuff but I DO NOT want my site disabled. If it's the heaviest user on the server, what do I need to do? upgrade ? Also, the crashing seems to have levelled out not...so I guess it was the site's you stopped.

Please let me know about the usage thing! Thanks!

I also been having problems with these guys. I been emailing them like crazy trying to tell them something is wrong. Everytime I get the generic cut and paste reply "It's working fine here...."

Well it's not fine!!!!

For the past 2 weeks all my sites have been spartacally up and down. Today I can't even get into my FTP much, when I do it is slow as hell.

I am a business man and I rely on my sites for my way of living and to support my family. HostGator obviously cannot comprehend or grasp the fact that their clients need reliable hosting and good support... their is the lousiest I have seen.

As I am typing this I just got an email from a friend that tells me all my sites are down.... AGAIN. I would email support but I guess we all know what the reply will be.

HOSTGATOR, GET OUT OF YOUR FAIRY TALE WORLD BEFORE YOU HAVE NO CUSTOMERS!!!

BTW, in case you don't know what "sparatic" means....
occuring at irregular intervals, having no pattern or order.

So ya, it might be working fine for you when you get my email and go to the site...

Not to make too fine a point... the word you actually seem to mean is "sporadic"...

In either case, you have what appears to me to be justified concern and frustration - aptly coincidental with your forum handle...
