Mail Settings not working

Hi ,

These are my current mail settings in my Joomla global config;

mailer: sendmail
mail from: admin@mywebsite.com
from name: mywebsite
sendmail path: /usr/sbin/sendmail
SMPT authentication: yes
SMPT security; none
SMPT port: 26
SMPT username; admin@mysite.com
SMPT;password: ******
SMPT host: mail.mysite.com

Now one additional thing that might have some bearing on this non functioning email system is that I am using another domain...the primary has not yet been pointed. All the email that has been configured in cpanel has the domain of the non primary. I am testing this before pointing the actual domain we will be using

I would be very grateful if someone could either let me know if these settings are okay or if it's the domain that is causing the issue.

Try using the IP of your website for the incoming and outgoing mail servers.

Where in my above configuration do I place the Ip address? I am showing exactly what Joomla allows in the global config...I don't see where they say incoming and outgoing.

The outgoing host is the SMTP host

Now on the right domain and my mail is still not sending emails out.

Is there not a standard way to configure the mail settings from this host?

I am surprised it is this difficult to get this configured.

Yes there is, use PHP Mail Function.
