i have a php script that uses mail() to send an email from a web page. this works perfectly fine when it is sent to a domain not hosted with my reseller package. I host my email and dns on another server and have tried everything with the dns on the reseller webhost manager. I have added the mx entry pointing to my email server and the email does not reach. The trace email comes up with nothing when sending either. I have even tried deleting the relevant dns entries via webhost manager as well, and nothing.
any ideas? |

You should use our dns to avoid any problems.

yes, but the other server is our own dedicated machine with ssh access, something gator's reseller account does not offer. Not to mention that it has been in production for over a year now and we do not want to move the dns and email just yet

I am having the exact same problem and nobody has been very eager to help.
I just need an SMTP server IP so I can put it into my script, even if I have to authenticate to it that's fine, my script can handle it. Just need the IP. |
