What is the purpose (function) of the mail directory which is automatically created in public_html, for all accounts a reseller creates? TIA |

If it's for mail and its configuration, then why is it in the document root? It's only confusing to my customers. Moreover, if you hit http://mail.domain.com , then a "There is no website configured at this address" message appears, which is also confusing. I deleted it for one of my customers, and his mail (webmail) seems to work fine... Elaborate, please. Thanks |

can your users still connect using mail.theirdomain.com ?
If you delete it and you have no problems keep on deleting it if you wish. Although we don't support you deleting it nor can we help if you run into problems as we don't reccomend deleting it.

sonic, if your customers are confused I'd recommend letting them know to type in www or public_html as their host directory folder when they are setting up their site for ftp. They will more than likely not need to use the other folders if they are just making/uploading edits to their site.
