Positive Lovin it so far!

In the few weeks I've been with HostGator, it's been great. My old host had some serious issues with the SQL server and connection to my php sites, but HG seems to be superior in that aspect. And every ticket I've opened were responded to within 2 hours... some within MINUTES! Fantastico is a wicked tool to install the newest CMS with zero technical knowledge required!

Another AWESOME feature was the site transfer. I had 30gb of files to transfer, which would have been a week or more of work, but you guys did it in 2 days.

Fast transfer speeds.
AMAZINGLY fast service when a help ticket is issued.

Seems like I've found my host.

Only one TEEEEEENIE little issue: HG doesn't seem to keep Fantastico up to date with the most current releases of CMS. Example is when Wordpress came out with 2.6.1... 2.6 is loaded, which works, but 2.6.1 fixes some big bugs and I wanted to just do clean installs of 2.6.1. No biggie... I just copied the new files over, but I just wanted to put that out there.

Thanks for the review!

The Fantastico updates are actually updated by Fantastico themselves, not us directly. Whenever they release an update, we get them almost automatically through cron updates.

Most of the time they wait on this to make sure that the new released versions are completely stable and secure before having them available.

OHHH! Well, that makes sense. I have to be honest, Fantastico makes installing CMS like Wordpress so simple, it's awesome.

Wait, I thought of something else.

You may want to relay this to Fantastico, but the installer doesn't remove the 'wp-configSAMPLE.php' file when it installs the site. In the past, WP advised people to remove that file (and early versions would give a warning until it was removed), because someone could access that file and hijack the site. I don't know if this is still possible, but it seems feasible.
