Lotus server is going very very slow, and it is getting very annoying, having a hard time getting and sending e-mail. What is going on with this server?

If you request live chat they should be able to fix this.

If your email doesn't work after you talk to chat support, check your mail severs in mail program(mail.yourdomain.com) (if applies) and then email support@hostgator.com with account user/domain and the server you are on.
