Hi. I am a web designer and we host most of our own site. I'm currently using two differnet reseller hosting servers for about 80 or so domains, none of them very large.
I am not happy with my current situation so I am looking for a new service. Here are a few questions I have. I may have more, based on the answers. So far I'm happy with your pricing, and the fact I was able to chat on line with your support people, and on a Sunday at that. 1. What is your status with the blacklists? I certainly don't spam or allow my clients to, but we have all been painted with the same brush because of one of my servers not policing their clients. I know there's no 100 percent solution, but where are you currently? 2. I use the SunShop shopping cart for some of my clients. Do you have Zend installed? How about GD? How much is a dedicated IP and is that required for using your shared SSL? 3. I have a bulkregister account for my domain registrations and don't care to use Enom. Is that any problem? I don't intend to use any automatic sign up for my clients. I only provide hosting to the sites we design. Well, that's enough for now. I'm sure I'll have a few more before I sign up. Thanks a lot, Dwight |

Hello.

You can use whatever domain register you want. ![]() However, if you install WHM AP (a program that manages clients and allows auto signups) and have AP auto register the domains you will need eNom. Have a good day.

afaik, Zend and GD are both installed. check by email support though. In my experience, server blacklisting has been dealt with quickly, helped by HG's policies that are very much towards server stability/getting rid of spammers. Shared SSL is self-signed, so be aware that (like all other places I've seen) for *trusted* shared SSL you'll have to get a certificate.
Hope it helps Olly. |

Thank you for the replies. I think HG will be a good fit for my needs. I guess now I just need to find the time to move 60 or more client sites.
Anyone have advice about moving a lot of sites from a Plesk control panel to cPanel? I've done it before, site by site, but if there's an easier way that I'm missing, I'm always happy to learn from my betters.. ![]() Dwight |

ooh, don't know about that one.. checked for info on Webhostingtalk.com? There are a fair few good informational threads there once you get past some pointless ones and a good bit of repetition...
