Default looking at aluminum plan to start test before migration of ~ 40 domains

I have a (AITCOM.NET) reseller account with ~40 hosted virtual accounts and I am looking for a rock solid reseller plan that I can count on. I am concerned about other vhost scripts crashing or hogging cpu time on the server I'm on.

Are your reseller plans on separate servers from individual shared plans?

How solid would the aluminum plan be for me? ...uptime ...uninterrupted mail services

Will I have access to the php.ini file?

How about ssh telnet access?

One of the things that people complain the most about is having their accounts suspended because of over CPU usage, so I'm fairly sure HG is on top of that.

You will not have shell access, nor the ability to edit the php.ini file on the aluminum plan.

Should be stable, with little or no downtime, but you might find issues with blacklists, as it is a shared server.

In addition to Serra's comment...if you have to have ssh and access to php.ini I believe you'd have to go with a dedicated plan...(not sure about the php.ini but since it's a dedicated space I don't see why not...)

Anyway....I've only ever had the blacklist problem once...and even then it was only to RoadRunner addresses...

So I wonder how any hosting company calculates each resellers CPU allowance for a given server?

As a reseller, how could you monitor your CPU loads?

This is a huge unknown for the reseller to try and calculate his success.

What is HostGator going to do for me?

My current hosting co.: I was mostly happy for 3 years as a reseller, QOS=good, and now about 9 mo.'s ago the cash cow landed and my QOS was crushed under the landing ship.

Blacklisting can put you out of business??
