Default Looking for adons for CMS

Hi

Is anyone aware of an adon for a CMS system, Mambo preferably that allows someone to display their stock itmes?

I'm not looking for a shopping cart, but something similar; the scenario is that I have a client who sells cars, he'd like to have a website that displays his current stock for that week/month etc...

The intention is not to sell online but only to display his entire stock with details of that particular car, shuch as colour, CC, Year and Model.

Any information, links etc.. greatly appreciated.

Regards
PJPF

Try osCommerce http://www.oscommerce.com/

It's a complete CMS for online stores with product categories, shopping cart, addons and plugins for credit cards and country-specific payment methods. It could be modified to not show prices if he didn't want to sell online.

Will EZstore work with Mambo? Or do I need to install Joomla?

This is from their support forum:

Q:Is EZ Store compatible with Mambo 4.5.2.3?

A: EZ Store should be compatible with Mambo 4.5.2.3 as it was built from a Mambo component. I don't think it will be compatible with following versions of Mambo though, as I read somewhere that changes to 4.5.3 caused problems with components.

Another one is VirtueMart (http://mambo-phpshop.net/)

"VirtueMart (formerly known as mambo-phpShop) is an Open Source E-Commerce solution for a Content Management System (CMS) called Joomla! (but also works with Mambo). Joomla and VirtueMart are written in PHP and made for easy use in a PHP / MySQL environment."

What is the budget? If you can get them to spring for it, you'd be best designing a custom application. They are much more steamlined and offer exactly what the client is looking for.

A database driven catalog isn't very hard to create in PHP and mySQL.

OR is a good one for selling cars. Someone on there forum might have built a cart for it also????
http://support.open-realty.org/
I been using there old version, (heavily modified) for years now for Real Estate but with a few changes can be used to just about anything needed for a online database.
The one in Fantastic is the newer version 2.0, but the latest version is on there website. The old version 1.5 is not PHP5 compatible if you should ever switch, but I am working on it. Don't ask, LONG time.

Maybe you could use something like this instead of a CMS addon?
