Sometimes i get logged out of the forum if i'm reading a long post, or if i leave my computer for a while. What is the time limit for this, and can i increase it?

Try checking the "remember me" box when logging in. That should solve the problem.

Is that what that box does? I've been wondering, since it doesn't seem to remember login details or anything but last visit.
