Hello,
Yes you can run streaming applications on your VPS. Video or audio streams should work without a problem.

If you are doing a video stream, I would recommend something with mid or high bandwidth. Audio streaming probably wont use much bandwidth.

If it can be installed on Linux, then there shouldn't be any issues with it. The amount of bandwidth used really all depends on your traffic. Generally streaming video takes up a decent amount of bandwidth.

What would be the ideal software to use to do Audio Streaming on a VPS setup if I had Level 1 Plan? Trying to see how best to use my VPS plan?

I would use SHOUTcast. Its very light weight, and works well. The URL is here http://www.shoutcast.com/download

If you want something opensource, then use icecast http://www.icecast.org/

Shoutcast is pretty easy to install, but if you want a free application to configure it, there is a webmin plugin for Shoutcast located here http://www.webmin.com/cgi-bin/search....cgi?modules=1

There is also an Icecast plugin for webmin which seems to be a lot more recent then the shoutcast plugin ( http://andi.mine.nu/ )

I'm on VPS plan 1. MySQL and PHP are not installed by default. If you want to install them, I suggest using Putty to connect to your server and use the following commands to install them...

yum install MySQL

yum install PHP

It's advised to install MySQL first as depending on how you use PHP, it depends on MySQL to run certain applications.

What is in your resolv.conf?

Code:
root@finn4 [~]# cat /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver 216.185.111.10
nameserver 69.56.222.10

Ok Seems as the resolv.conf needed to be updated.

Wikiapedia:
The resolv.conf file typically contains directives with the IP addresses of nameservers available to a host.

Must learn command line a lot more, but having the GUI does help speed things up.

Thanks Guys.
