Live Network Status Notifications vis RSS

Hello People,

Most of our client base has been using this section of our forums to get notifications about our server maintenance schedules as well as emergency outages etc. However, it has been noticed that the email notifications which are sent out on such events usually get delayed a bit due to the amount of members they need to be emailed to. To avoid this delay, we would rather suggest you to subscribe to our Live RSS feed for the network status forum.

The feed URL is:

http://forums.hostgator.com/external...S2&forumids=14

You can use any RSS reader application to get notifications from this feed.

Here are some links to the tutorials which you can use to subscribe to the feed from different RSS readers or browsers.

Is there a way to RSS the status of just one server? I used to have an RSS feed on my Reader for 898, but that hasn't been updated in a long while. It would be nice to know what is going on with multiple servers, but I am more interested with what is happening to the server I am hosted on.

Hi!

Unfortunately no, not at this time. You could setup filters for your RSS feed to only show alerts / updated about that particular server however.

I used to use yahoo pipes to fetch a feed, filter it, and then send it to my cell phone as a SMS message.

I made a really simple pipe to only show entries for the pantera server:

http://pipes.yahoo.com/hgnatec/hgpanteratestpipe

You can clone that pipe and make your own.
