Links-Backlinks Question

I have signed up with about 6 or 8 sites and put links for them on my links page.I received confirmation from some sites showing they had put my link on their page.I went to their site just to make sure my link was there and it was.Google doesn't show any links to my site.Is there something i am doing wrong or something i need to submit to google to let them know the links are there? I thought google would see them when it crawled the site. Thanks

I assume you're looking for the links in Google webmaster tools? If so, I've noticed that it can take months for link information to update there.
Unless we're both doing the same thing wrong (LOL), be patient. The ways of Google are sometimes incomprehensible.

Yes i was looking in webmaster tools.Guess i will wait a while.
