I am trying to install streamtranscoder V3 and need libmad...
I've done this on another server no problems...but the main server my HG VPS is being a problem child.. libmad and devel headers are not found in the repos... I am not a yum guru.. In a Debian based system apt-get update normally resolves and finds the packages needed.. yum search libmad finds nothing... Any suggestions to resolve this? ? ticket already submitted... but if some one has a solution I am all ears |

You should check out a site to search RPMs like rpmfind. For each of the RPMs that you download for this program, you will need to get the -devel version as well.
Searching show that these packages are needed along with their devel counterparts: libogg libvorbis libmad libcurl libmp3lame Searching RPM find for the libmad-devl RPM brings positive results: http://www.rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2htm...submit=Search+... If you need to build from source here is the maintainer's site: http://www.underbit.com/products/mad/ |

For those who want to install streamtranscoder on their VPS I will post a tutorial on how I finally got it installed so you can be spared the yum repo disaster I went through, and should not have had too!
Once I get one little nit resolved with a network issue and I clean up my logs of what I did I will post... |
