Default this is lame... mod_perl?

Why can I post message without registering, but yet I cannot do a simple search of the forum without it telling me I have to register first. So I register and then it tells me I have to activate my account with an e-mail activation link. So then I activate my account and it tells me I'm in a moderation queue and won't be added yet. I still can't search. Why do I have to go through all of this?

I just wanted to find out if your servers use mod_perl. Also it says your Perl version is 5.006001. That's old.

The forum is for the customers only to get support! As an unregistered user u can see only the public forums. I suppose your account will not be activated unless you are a HG customer.

mod_perl version 5.8.4

The installed modules are too many to list!

If it is only for customers to get support then why is it called PRE-SALES QUESTIONS? Also there is no such thing has mod_perl 5.8.4, there are versions 1 and 2!

I thought HostGator looked like a decent host, boy was I wrong.

As indicated at the forums index page, you can post questions in the Pre-Sales and Suggestions forum as a non-registered user. Only HostGator clients are able to register.
If you have questions, you can just ask them here, can't be easier I think.

mod_perl is available and Perl version is indeed 5.8.4.

Stef.

I have tried several and shelled out good money only to learn that you get what you pay for. Starting with HG, I was pretty leery about spending any great deal of money, locking in to long contracts, etc. Word of mouth is now spreading fast that my hosting is putting everyone else around to shame and I have been too busy running around getting everyone ready to sign up and haven't even had time to finish my web site on it yet.

So "Guest", I think you are judging something before seeing it for yourself. I am already toyiong around with thinking I may need a dedicated server here real soon.

Do not judge a host from the sales department. Support has been amazing for the past 6 months i am with HG!

For faster response times regarding sales you could email sales@hostgator.com
