Default Kind of misleading price...

On the order wizard, it doesn't say what kind of dollar you need to pay.
(Like USD, or CDN).
I ended up buying this Hatchling package, thinking it would cost $78.72 (in my currency), but when I went to pay after ordering, it said it was $98 in Canadian dollars! Big difference! I didn't know it was $78.72 USD until after ordering.
So my suggestion is, I think you should state the kind of currency people will need to pay on the order wizard so people don't get confused.

Dunno why this hasn't been answered by HG staff but the dollarsign($) stands for american dollars as far as I know, correct me if I am wrong.

The dollar sign stands for dollars, not specifically US.

Typically it's assumed most prices on the internet are USD unless otherwise specified.

MY problem with that was it said the account would be only $12.99 a month, as though that's what I'd pay period. I went to order, and it was 14.99. The only way to get the discount was to order by year or whatever. I thought that was kind of shady. Put the highest price first, and mention if you buy long, you get a better deal. Almost made me not even switch to hostgator.

That's one of those thangs that's just so crazy it might work... I really, really like that idea as a matter of fact. I think customers would like it and it would definitely stand out as a different way among hosts.

Well, today almost all hosts do the same trick, and one would find out the fact only @ checkout time. What you suggested would be nice and would only enhannce hostgators reputation as a company.

A company based in the United States using U.S.currency? No way!
I have been with Host Gator for over a year. It is worth the money.

Happy New Year.

Alas, devolution didn't convert the pound to Stirling...despite devaluation, it's still Sterling.

(Sorry, couldn't resist when I saw where you're from.)

As a Fifer myself I remember being told a saying when I was little:

Quote:
It takes a lang spoon tae sup wi a fifer.
The story behind it is that during negotiations with the devil a Fifer agreed to invite the devil to dinner as payment for services rendered. The devil duly arrived looking forward to a feast and was seated at one end of a very lomg table. The host seated himself at the other end. The servants then brought all the food in and placed it at the end where the host sat. Try though he might, the devil was unable to reach any of the food as he had agreed that he wouldn't leave his chair until the feast was over. At the end of the feast the devil stormed out uttering the saying.

If you point your mouse at the price, a popup will appear with a price breakdown.

YES
Canadians use the $ sign to represent Canadian $ in Canada. (I'm Canadian) That said, anyone who has been around the internet for any length of time knows that sites that sell in Canadian $ are very carefully to state CAD very prominently, everywhere. Because the US has millions more internet sites than Canada, most internet sites selling in $ are, in fact selling in USD.
Still, it's an international world and Host Gator would be well advised to act on this suggestion.

“Two farthings = one ha’penny
Two ha’pennies = one penny
Three pennies = a thrupenny bit
Two thrupences = A Sixpence
Two Sixpences = One Shilling, or Bob
Two Bob = A Florin
One Florin and One Sixpence = Half a Crown
Four Half Crowns = Ten Bob Note
Two Ten Bob Notes = One Pound (240 pennies)
One Pound and One Shilling = One Guinea

The British resisted decimalized currency for a long time because they thought it was too complicated.”

OH MAH GOD, who would have though an American company, with an American 1800 number, in the biggest state in America, charged American dollars?
