Neutral Kind of in the middle on this

I run a gaming site that has been open about 5 weeks. My traffic has been pretty slow for the most part but is starting to pick up in the last 10 days. I did notice as it picked up that we started seeing major lag on the server as well as crashes. I was on a shared server but figured that such a small load on the hard drive it really should not make a difference not to mention my traffic wasn't great but it was there. I emailed the support team quite alot in the last week asking if the high memory usage and cpu usage was due to my site. I have no problem blaming myself for this at all. They fixed all the problems as they occurred and I give mad props for that, but they never told me if it was because of my site which I had a large suspicion it was.

Now as of this morning my account was suspended and my site taken down because of exactly what I thought. At first I just wanted my files, but after talking with some people we decided to go with a semi dedicated server package they offered. Yet in the email and I quote "Instead of just suspending your site we have moved it to a dedicated server giving you one week to decide what you want to do." Now, the problem with this I was never given any new name servers and when you look up the domain, well the great suspended page comes up. Now I am not mad or anything but frustrated that it was all of 15 mins between email and taking down my site and almost 4 hours later I have nothing to show for it. Unfortunately in this line of work I can easily lose my players, I put the blame on myself for not knowing better but also I put the blame on hostgator for my downtime. There should be more time alotted for situations like this so people don't take such a fall. A possible better plan? I mean yanking the site entirely is just not cool, at least give me some options and 24 hours to get it right or if it is such a problem then make the transfer so there is no notice of downtime.

My main concern is the community I am building as things like these can make or break a site. Overall though I am very confident in the staff and have talked to them via email and phone. I can understand where they are coming from but would like to see a better plan of action when suspending an account for something I had been asking about for over a week.

Thanks for everything, hope you guys understand where I am coming from.
