I'm fairly new to managing a VPS, as well as new to the command line. I know basic things with command line. I notice HG posts a support article saying what versions of software their shared servers run. For a VPS what's the best way for me to ensure all of mine is up to date as per the HG list?
For some of the items on the list I'm unsure how to find out what version I have and then how to update it. Any help would be appreciated. I'm still learning the whole server managing thing. |

If you have cPanel/WHM then you should let cPanel take care of the updates, WHM-> Server Configuration-> Update Preferences.
