KB > Software Versions
I'm trying to set up a dev environment at home. While the temptation is strong to install the latest and greatest versions of all the software I need, I think it would be more productive to replicate HG's environment as well as I can. I eschewed popular servers-in-a-box solutions (Uniform Server, XAMPP, WAMP, Mambo Starter Kit, etc.) in favour of installing individual components by myself (even though I've gotten migraines as a result and experienced failed attempts in the past) so that I could learn how to configure things properly (it. will. work. GRR).
In accomplishing this, the Software Versions section of the knowledgebase has been most helpful. My suggestion: Add Apache to that list of essential components (PHP, MySQL, etc.) (BTW, legacy stable version 1.3.34 has been released, I believe HG's running 1.3.33. There are some security and bug fixes in the latest revision.)
Thanks for reading.
[Edit] Also, please keep this area updated. The KB states that you are using v4.0.20-standard of MySQL. When trying to download this version from mysql.com, I saw 4 .20 releases, a-d. Not knowing which one you use, I logged in to WHM and checked the server status, hoping to find the exact info there. Turns out, you're using 4.0.25 now. I wouldn't have known this had I relied solely on the knowledgebase.
