Default Just a question

Hi everyone,
I heard loads of positive stuff about HG so I'm thinking about switching my site from GoDaddy to over here. The latency and timeouts to their servers is driving me up the wall.

Just to be clear about one point. I'm using a Word Press hosted blog. To upgrade the version I either do it from the dashboard inside wordpress or I went to the Godaddy site, into my account, and did it from their site, which offered me, at the click of a button, a rollback option if needed. Does this same second option exist here with Host Gator? I'm not to handy with messing around in the depths of web files.

I have many several wordpress sites hosted and you DO have the upgrade inside the wordpress panel to upgrade, and also if installed using Fantastico there is an upgrade option.
The fantastico upgrade does a backup before upgrading but it would be a manual process to restore, there is no rollback function.

In order to get around manually restoring you could do this:

Create a full cPanel backup from inside the cPanel, just click Backups. Then go ahead and do the WordPress upgrade via the Dashboard or Fantastico. If there is a problem with the upgrade and it destroys your website, no worries you would just have to fill out a Restoration form located at HostGator's website.

If you provide them with your own backup file, which you have from the cPanel backup, then they will restore it for free. That is what I would recommend if you are not experienced with troubleshooting the WordPress issue.

It is nice to know that Hostgator can actually work in Wordpress. I am planning to switch to Wordpress because of their positive feedbacks and since I now discovered that HG works with WordPress then I can consider to switch now. Thanks for sharing this information.
