Just a few questions

Okay, so this will be my first web host and I want something that is reliable, for which I have been doing alot of research.

I had a few questions.

1) I am almost certain that the shared server wont be able to survive the Digg Effect, so if I am dugg what happens? Will my site be suspended? Will the suspension be only for the site that is dugg or will it be for all the sites that are on my account?

2) What happens after I am suspended? Will I be told to upgrade my account to semi/dedicated server? Will there be any excuse to it? because I wont be knowing if I am dugg while I am asleep.

3) After suspension how will my account be reinstated (without upgrading)? Will I need to pay some charge? If yes, then how much? Is it a one time charge or will I need to pay it everytime I am suspended?

4) What is hostgator's policy towards a using a nulled script?

5) Will a shared server will be able to handle the load of a flash game site averaging at 1500 uniques per day?

6) The TOS says you cant use more than 25% of system resources over a period of 90 secs, may I know 25% of how much? Will I be able to see the stats on how much of the CPU I am burning?

7) I have read that verification of account is necessary with a passport or driving licence but I dont have any at the moment, since I have applied for them which takes nearly three months to arrive, is there a workaround for this? since I dont intend to wait for three months. Note: I will be paying through paypal.

I know they are not 'few' questions, but thanks for your time and patience to go through them.

A lot depends on how much traffic is generated. A major digg will be a problem, a few thousand hits will not be a problem. (as long as they are not at the same time)

You need to make sure your billing address is NOT on your domain so you will get the notice.

However, there is nothing you can do. It will be an abuse issue, so it will be difficult to act quickly.

No charge, you will just need to talk them into turning you back on. They have been good in the past about doing that, when it was a one off thing.

Yes, most likely.

No, you can't see. You can't tell and you have no clue at all. Not only that, but it really depends on what server you are on and how busy it is at the time you caused problems. Users on slower servers tend to be suspended faster than those on empty servers. In other words, if you are causing problems, you get toasted.

Have you been asked to verify? If not, don't worry about it. If so, you can contact sales and work something out. This is VERY user specific, so contact sales.

Wouldnt a nulled script come under Warez & copyright infringement?

Examples of unacceptable material include:

Serra meant to say, ""make sure your EMAIL address is not on your domain." Because if HG sends an email notification of your suspension to your email address on your suspended account, you'll never receive it.

Is your site running elsewhere? if yes, do you have stats, If not, go start and you will see down the road having allways a eye on your stats if you suspect overload.
If this happens talk with support for to see what you can do.

If you are on a shared account with addons domains all your sites will be suspended.

If you are on a reseller account it will only be the site that got dugg.. but if its your primary domain that gets dugg then all your sites will be suspended

personally i had doing hosting review for more than 10 hosting company, and i signup more than 5 of them. If hostgator cant do it, none of other can.

as per my testing and observation, the server here is fast and quality.
1500 flash pageview is not that much until enouhg to kill your site. because the flash is downloaded and play from user browser.

even when you hit that some day, you always can upgrade your plan easily here.
