Bob, I'm sorry to say but everything is, and has been, working for me fine. I have been on all morning, and receiving emails, without difficulty.

Lucky you

I`m pulling my hair out over this. It certainly is not a problem at my end, as members of my site have complained about downtime or slowness. Plus several on here have complained. Makes me wonder whether this is domain/dns related, because you have no problems on Jetta.

Alright, now something si going on. I'm doing all I can to find out what is happening, but no info as of yet.

Please, someone from HostGator, can you reply here and tell us what has been going on for the last few weeks? It's just getting rediculous.

Lol, I`m thinking of setting up a cron job that will email support every day. Thus saving me having to write up the same emails each morning, with the same old issues!!

Someone ran something to crash the box today. I was in top when it happened and it was instant. We did remote reboot to get it up and running few minutes later. Any time server needs a hard reboot like that the array's get messed up and will slow some things like whm. The array is currently rebuilding and will take about 15 hours. I don't think this is related to what everyone was experieincing days ago. Looks like someone ran something within split second server load was in 100's so no one could access till reboot.

Wow, thanks. That's the best reply we've had for quite a while. Do you know who this person is, and will they be suspended?

Hope it`s soon.

Seems to be really spluttering at the moment.

Scrap the spluttering part, it`s down completely

Yes hopefully this resolves the issues. Lol yesterday was not a good day for me, with both the server and autopilot not working

Both finally resolved

Seems to have slowed up in the last few minutes. Seriously, I understand this is a shared environment, but surely there should be some stability there?

I`ve been with several other hosts on shared environments, and none has been as unstable as this.

I know you suggest I moved to a dedicated solution, but heck that`s a big jack in the price and my client base can`t justify the expense. The reason I left my previous hosts was because of the lousy, non existent customer service. However, the servers were always up and running and that was a shared server, just like yours.

If this is how a shared environment is done by HG, I guess I must have made a big mistake.

Awesome stuff

We adjusted some mysql settings that should help and possibly fix things.
send me an email at brent@hostgator.com the second things start to go slow.

also caught someone driving mysql crazy

All good here, Brent. Someone said FTP was a bit slow earlier for a few minutes, but that's all from here.

Brent....

Any idea why there are so many ftp connection problems? Some days it will be fine, but today I`m lucky if I can connect...

Connect socket #620 to 67.19.167.194, port 21...
421 Login Timeout (300 seconds): closing control connection.
Can't establish connection --> maritimes-hosting.com:21 @ Sat Feb 12 19:52:57 2005 (122-2)

I`ve tried connecting direct through the IP# but it`s no different.

It`s no big deal, because I just keep trying until I can establish connection. Was just curious in case any clients ask the same questions

I've had some problems as well. It's been slow some times, but there was a complaint one client had today that the permissions of the files were all set to 000. This has only happened twice now, the second being today. Any idea about this?

Man,

I`ve been itching to upload some new files, for the last few hours all I get are timeout errors.

I guess I`ll give up for tonight and hope tomorrow brings a better day In fact it better had, I need to make some changes for a client tomorrow.

I`ve raised this issue before with support, but I just get the generic reply `everything is fine with your site, please check to confirm`

Why bother, I`m tired of sending support tickets and getting an almost automated response....

I saw it was running proftp which crashes a lot I switched to pure ftp which is better all around on everything. cpu, ram, relibable, etc.

that should solve any ftp issues.

someones scripts permission being canged to 000 means their script was crashing the server or spamming. (thus was disabled)

Thank you Brent.

About the permissions, the funny thing is that they went back to normal after a while.
