Default Java/JSP/Tomcat - a number of questions

I just upgraded to Swamp as I have a java/jsp application I need to run. However there doesn't seem any information anywhere on how to get up and running. Mainly :

1 - Where should I put my .war files ?

2 - How often is tomcat restarted ? How do you request a tomcat restart ?

3 - Is there any cpanel or similar interface for java/jsp management ?

4 - Any plans to upgrade to Tomcat 5 ?

I am not sure of the answers to your other questions, but I do know that JSP is not active on your account by default. If you click on the next to JSP on the features grid it says:

We support JSP, and are running Tomcat version 4.x Each account gets one dedicated servlet. If you require jsp email us immediately after signing up.

So, you would have to at least email them to get started and should ask at that time to get an official answer on your other questions.

Does anyone know what version of tomcat is running on reseller accounts nowadays? Is there a way to check that out by myself?

Thanks, in advance.

PS: Sorry I didn't post this on the Reseller area, but I thought it would be more useful to follow this thread on tomcat.

Given that this thread is nearly five years old much has changed. I do not believe Tomcat is currently supported, at least from what I remember from other threads. It would be best to contact support for a definitive answer, however, to see if it is available at all.

Unhappy Re: Java/JSP/Tomcat - a number of questions

Just noticed I never added the answers I got back then, so here they are (in case someone finds them useful):

Question:
Quote:
We need to know if tomcat is supported in our reseller account.
If it is, should we manage it through ssh?
If it is not, could we install it?
Answer:
Quote:
Unfortunately Tomcat is not enabled on the Reseller servers
Question:
Quote:
Is there any way to install Tomcat (maybe using ssh) in a reseller or
shared account? What about a dedicated server?
Answer:

There is no way you could do this on a shared or reseller server. You can install this on a dedicated server if you wish but if you are wanting us to do it for you there will be a fee for the admin time involved.
