Isuzu::Scheduled FSCK

Isuzu will be coming down tonight at 11:30pm CDT for a fsck of /home. We do apologize for the frustrations and inconveniences, however this must be done to ensure the integrity of the data in the array.

We do not have an ETA at this time. We will update this thread accordingly once we have more information.

Hi. I just noticed this. Would have been nice to be notified as I have a project due tomorrow for a client. Is this something that will take an hour or so or is it something that will take hours .... in other words should I wait up or go to bed? Trying to figure out how to best optimize my time.

In the future is there a way that you can notify by email perhaps a week or even three days before if you have a downtime planned so that we can plan our Dev time around the necessary scheduled maintenance?

If there already is a list let me know. Thanks.

Just noticed the under maintenance message on all my clients sites on isuzu. Thanks for putting that up. It is helpful as I will not have a bunch of clients calling me telling me their site is down and asking what is going on. Thanks for paying attention to the details.

Looks like most of the other servers were only down for an hour or two so I will hang in and still try to get some dev time in tonight.

The longer we wait to do these fscks the longer they take and the more data corruption there is. We do our best to minimize the downtime and the effects by doing them when traffic is at its lowest and by posting here as soon as we schedule them, but we have to balance giving lots of notice with the longer downtime and data loss.

Thanks. I have not been on this forum much and just noticed that there was a way to subscribe to an rss feed for the network status. Excellent idea. I understand about limitations of email in terms of trying to notify everyone about every update happening. For anyone reading this post and wanting to be notified easily check this link:
