Default Issues with Lebaron

My site (and all of my reseller sites on Lebaron) have now been down for over an hour and ten minutes, email too intermittently. I've been told by Hostgator that Lebaron is slow due to heavy loads, but this has been happening for a half hour to an hour or more about once every 2-3 weeks since late 2007.

Are others experiencing the same frequency of issues with this server? I'm asking because my clients are understandably unhappy and I'm wondering if the problem is chronic or something that's being seriously addressed - if something can be done about it.

Ask HG to move you to a new server!

I just tried to log on to my web account and view my website, and neither are working. Are they going to post that there is an issue. I have 17 people ahead of me on the phone.

I was told via support chat this morning that Lebaron was having major load issues - and I just got an email from support that says this:

"After some further investigation into the server load it appears that nothing is causing any significant load since none of the accounts on the server are over using resources."

And he suggests that I move to a dedicated server to avoid any future delay issues.

So if there were no server issues, why were none of my sites working this morning? Why was my SMTP server not working either?

And I don't want to move to a dedicated server if I can avoid it. I have a lot of clients on my reseller account and would like to keep it that way, if the Lebaron issues are not going to become an ongoing problem. I want to trust that issues will be taken care of promptly and my business website won't be down for two hours again anytime soon.

I've been having issues with my server timing out that past few days ... is this because of a DOS attack?

This was mostly yesterday where we were having some issues with several resource hogs that have been handled. The load is nominal now and we'll continue to monitor it throughout the next few days. Please submit a support ticket as the first line of defense and then hop in live chat so we can check it out ASAP if you're having trouble. Thanks guys!

Ford -

I did submit a ticket and I talked to live support, and the live support tech told me it was a load issue. That's fine... but then the ticket responder told me that there absolutely was no problem with Lebaron yesterday, period. I questioned him and got a reply back to the same effect - there were no problems yesterday.

This seems like an issue for your support people that's important to get straight - if there's a load issue, we'd like to know about it (maybe it could be posted here so we don't flood support with inquiries?), but I don't want to be told I'm imagining problems when I have over 23 sites that I can't access and email I can't use.

Especially that I'm imagining it and if I'm really worried, I'm welcome to buy a dedicated server.

I have also been seeing a lot of load issues on lebaron. Especially over the last few weeks where there seems to be daily occurences of high server loads making my sites unaccesible. The average load during the day seems to be 10-15 which I think is awfully high. As of right now it is 34.61. I have submitted several tickets over the past few weeks. It can be frustrating when support replies and says there is no problem (when the load was 35+ when the ticket was submitted). I have received some good responses though and I am confident that they are working on the issue and will get it straightened out.
