Any one running IPB forums on Hostgator?
I am having problems with mine overloading the server and would like to see what other people have as fas as # of members, posts, max online, settings, etc. Mine has approximately 1200 members of which only 400 are regular, around 50,000 posts (which are trimmed weekly), very few pictures, and most users in a 30 min timeframe is 40. Persistant connections are off. Its on server i.p. 70.86.17.34, which Im not sure of the real name for it. If you can post your stats and server it would be appreciated. |

This may help
Here's one that I know of to give back a bit of speed (not much I know, but a bit): In /init.php Find: CODE define( 'CUSTOM_ERROR', 1 ); Change to: CODE define( 'CUSTOM_ERROR', 0 ); Maybe try to set your skin CSS to be cached on the browser also. To do this go under look and feel and go to settings for the skin you are using and select yes to cache CSS Last edited by Fernis; 12-26-2005 at 09:38 AM. |

You will probably want to upgrade to atleast a semi-dedicated with a constant flow of 400 members. Otherwise a Basic Dedi setup. And to Fernis, I would hink you'd want Custom Errors to show-up. I'd hate to keep with those normal gaping php errors on the screen.
