Hello,
I am wondering if all of my domains in my account will be on the same IP address or IP block? Is this true for all plans? Any options to get some separation of IPs between my different sites? Would that mean a reseller plan or would it mean paying an extra fee for each site I want to have a separate IP address for? (How much $/month per IP address). I've looked all over the site and knowledge base but unable to find it so am asking here. Unfortunately it will not allow you to search the forum unless you register and it won't let you register unless you have purchased an account .... and this is a pre-sales question (go figure...murphy's law). Thanks for the advice! Mark |

You can get a dedicated IP address for $2/mo. per address by going to http://www.hostgator.com/ip.php
Your sites (whether on a shared or reseller box) will all be in the same ip/range. If you need dedicated IP addresses for SSL or similar uses you can buy them at the link above. Dedicated servers come with 5 IP addresses I believe. Buying a dedicated IP address will not help solve email blacklist issues though, just in case that was what you were wanting them for. David |

Thanks for the helpful reply.
Your answer seems to indicate you can have the baby swamp or swamp hosting addresses and get the IP addresses for $2 each per month. But the page you refer to asks for your reseller account info. Does that mean you have to have the reseller account to get differing IPs? And what about IPs that are not in the same range/block? Is that possible without a dedicated server. I don't intend to do any spam so the email blacklisting is not an issue. If you have multiple sites that have linking between them especially if they are on related topics there is a search engine ranking penalty (or at least the links count for less). I can't figure out how to ask support because you have to have bought an account before you can use a ticket with them (very strange...), so thanks for the help. Thanks, Mark |
