Do you have the option to email on a monthly basis receipts or invoices for auto pay accounts?
I have a dedicated pro server. Support says receipts or invoices are not avialbale at this time. In order to have a receipt for $300 a month plus services paid for you have to log into the account every month. Is this true? I dont think i have ever visited a website in the last 10 years that didnt email a receipt/invoice for payments? basic requirement for accounting of any comapny. HELP me help you do your job. |

This is a peer support forum. For this type of question you should contact HG directly and ask for the billing or sales department. I also have a dedicated server and do not receive emails but if I need to check on the invoices I can log into the billing section and view all invoices that have been paid.

Just called the support line. No billing support is available by phone. Only live chat, fax, and email. Used the live chat same support. Same answer.
Jack we currently do not have a system in place to email monthly invoices to our clientelle. However, you can log into your billing account anytime at http://hostgator.com/billing to access this information. Invoices or receipts are not available by email. If you want to print your payment info every month you must put a post it note on your machine to remind yourself to log in and print it out for AP. I wanted a dedicated server, not a dedicated post it note for my monitor. What an idiotic thing to have on your calendar every month for the rest of your life. Scenario. Ohh the 17th, Jan’s birthday, Microsoft meeting, Hostgator invoice printing day. Come on guys! Absolutely dumb founded. I understand this is not the correct section but it’s the only option that is available at this time, as my forum account will take 1-2 days to process. I understand that logging into an account every month to view a bill is something some people have the luxury of doing. However if I spent time doing that for every account it would take about 40 hours a week. Over 200 different accounts for products and services consumed every year. I don’t have time to micromanage every company providing services to my companies, at least on the invoicing part. What a basic function. I am floored its not available here. A bill or invoice by email would be great. |

You must log into billing to print a HostGator receipt. HOWEVER, you have a few different options for getting receipts.
1) Keep your credit card statements likely mailed to you monthly which state "FL HOSTGATOR $300." 2) Setup a PayPal account with your credit card to automatically pay HostGator each month. I believe PayPal sends you an email for payments sent. Then you can use that as a receipt as it should say "HOSTGATOR $300." 3) Pay several months at a time; pay three months at a time so that you only have to log in 4/365 days a year to print receipts. I don't work for HostGator and I agree that it is annoying that you have to go get the receipts yourself, but you can not make them email you. Hopefully my suggestions help.

So, does WHMCS not scale well to HG's size, or is there some other reason they don't use one of the systems we have available to us? WHMCS will do what's asked for here, and at least from my experience with MB vs WHMCS has the better user interface in the first place. Like the Admin area better too personally, but that's just me.

HG has posted many times that they are writing an in-house billing application. We'll have to wait until that is launched.

I really had no real issue with this until I upgraded to a VPS then I didn't like loosing all my past billing because of the different billing systems. This IMO is very unfriendly to businesses that try to keep good records.
I also tried to see if there was a simple way to download my past records with no luck. So I saved as much as I could in the time available but would have preferred to have copies of all billing from past account. Needless to say I really like HG overall but no matter what HG gives as an excuse their billing is in a word Archaic. |

After this post I was thinking maybe I actually might still have access to old billing system. I was able to get the old password thru the system but wasn't able to access it so no go.
I have now started either printing as a PDF or saving screen as a img just in-case the billing system is completely changed again for an upgrade. This actually is allot of work to make your customers do. As small as my company is I can print or email all invoices since we computerized. I also am working on scanning all past invoices so we can have all our clients records available. |
