Question Inversed

There is something too strange for me.
From one aspect. Hostgator gives 1000 GB for bandwith and 100GB of space (Baby plan), And it will also suspend the account if you get more that 10 000 visitors a day (read this on a thread in this forum)
I also asked live support. They said as long as BW and space are available, There is no problem.
I am too worried now. I have recently moved my site to hostgator, Currently about 7 000 visitors a day, my alexa ranking has moved up about 700 000 in this 2 weeks because my new politics on attracting unique & continual visitors.
But now, i am afraid of being suspended if i increase my visitor more than this. Why is it like this? A huge amount of BW and space, Inversed, a few visitors allowed per day.

I ask hostgator to clearify the truth about this matter.

Default Re: Inversed

Brent just provided this information a few days ago. There are no vistor limits on HG accounts. Limits placed on accounts stem from processor usage. If the machine you are on starts to bog down, support will look at the machine. If YOUR site is found to be causing the problem, your site will be suspended. If you are currently getting 1 visitor an hour or 20,000 an hour, it doesn't matter, if your site bogs down the machine, you are toast.

So, the total number of visitors you can get depends largely on your site. If you use a lot of mySQL per visitor, then its more likely you will get suspended. If you have a large number of scripts that use processor or memory, you are more likely to be suspended.

It is difficult for you to tell, but if you look at the system status and the load is in the red, then the machine is currently being bogged down. If you think it is your site causing the problem, then you should be worried. When you start getting peak traffic, you should email support and ask them how much strain your site is putting on the system. Of course, if you do that, and it is found to be putting strain on the system, then they will suspend you right there...
