Installing backup drives on all servers 5/27/03 READ!!!

The datacenter will be putting backup hard drives into all hostgator servers today. All websites will experience 15-30 minutes downtime while the drives are installed. Starting tomorrow all websites will be backed up daily.

*Dedicated server clients will not be affected.

This will thread will be updated as more news develops.

The drive installation has begun. All servers should be upgraded in around 2 hours time. With 15-30 minutes downtime per server.

All done. Every customer now has their information backed up daily. Average downtime per server upgrade was 12 minutes. Thanks for your patience.

I second that AngelEyez..

There has been several times I have corrupted, deleted, or simply edited a file incorrectly, only wishing I had a backup. I do a backup every 2 weeks, because of the mass amount of files I have. Nice to know I don't have to worry about it anymore.
