It is by default set to 1,000,000 however if you need it raised, just let us know we can probably do that for you.

Thats plenty! I was worried it would be like in shared plans that I believe is 50.000. Does the weekly back up service applies to this plans too?

We backup all of our VPS servers for disaster recovery. We can restore backups if needed.
I honestly don't think anyone has ever requested backups on VPS before though. We charge $15 to have restores done from backups.. Although if its something big, there is a chance that admin time could occur. |

For shared the Inode limit is 250,000

Indeed, a million inodes is plenty in my opinion for VPS. I did request to raise the limit I think when I had a VPS with HostGator and their were no problem.
They are many limits on the VPS but HG did take the time to analyze each one of them and adjust before the launch. I just can't see anything wrong with the limits on VPS's. As for the 250,000 on the shared hosting plan, it is high for a shared account as you want have hundreds of 'cPanel' accounts on them. I've used a script for a third party company a while ago to track the inodes on both VPS and dedicated servers but it was way to slow when customers were loading cPanel (index page). It was called Gold inodes monitor. Nice tool if you want to apply inodes limit and unlimited disk space. |
